“Perfect! Voted best part of the day! This program drove home the message better than any classroom presentation. Keep up the creativity!”

—Candice Scheidt, Principal, St. John the Evangelist

“I thought the group gave two wonderful performances. They were professional, knowledgeable and entertaining. The students can really relate to what the skits were about.”

—Mike Osborne, Associate Principal, Harlem Middle School

“The Ease the Tease” program was great! My fourth grade students really enjoyed the humor and participation that the program offered. We took our learned and revisited coping skills back to the classroom and immediately put them to use!”

—4th Grade Teacher, Creston School

“This production helped me because earlier in the year I was getting teased because someone said something about my family…It’s getting better, but now if it comes back I know how to handle it. Also, I have been seeing other people be teased, so now I know how to help that person.”

—5th Grader, Creston School

“I feel good when I learned all of that. I’ve used all those tips. People tease me about every single thing: my last name, my middle name, my emotions, my choice in books, saying I’m stupid which I’m not.”

—5th Grader, Creston School

“The children were enthralled by the performers, and touched by the content of the program.  It directly related to each and everyone one of them.  Your show, “Watcha Gonna Do About It?” should be a must-see for every elementary school across our country.  It’s topical, it tells the truth and teaches our children the tools they need to make the right choices.”

—Elizabeth Rothschild-Krantz, VP Programming, Greenbriar Elementary School

“Dear Imagination Theater,
Thank you so much for coming to Camp MacLean to perform for us at Operation Snowball 2007! We loved your performance and appreciated the positive message and humor. The interaction between the students and your group helped create a great understanding of the importance of communication within relationships. You definitely contributed to the success of our weekend!

—The 2007 Operation Snowball Teen and Theatre Staff, Libertyville High School

“Your Artistic Director was very open to getting my input so that we could tailor a program to fit our school’s needs.  The assembly for the students was impressive.  The actors were extremely professional in their roles.  Both through eliciting comments from our students and including them in the scenes, they were able to get our students involved in a very positive manner.  The workshop for the staff was also well done.  The Artistic staff made us all aware of our own issues with respect and tolerance and gave us some activities to use in the classroom with our students.

—Lou Mongillo, LCSW, ACSW of Wilmette Junior High, Wilmette

"Dear Imagination Theater,
Thank you for taking the time to perform at Carmel Catholic High School for our parents on Thursday, September 21 and for our students on Tuesday, October 24. The parents and the students very well received your presentation. The feedback was phenomenal. I believe that our parents and our students benefitted greatly from your presentation and your message. We really appreciate your taking the time to do it. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns or if there is anything that we can do for you."

—Lori Smith, LSW, Director of Social Services, Carmel Catholic High School

"The recent Respect and Tolerance presentation at Central High School by the Imagination Theater group was very well received by our students. The situational skits and student participation were seen by students as being both thought provoking and entertaining."

—David Oleson, Central High School Principal

"Imagination Theater's What Now? performance was perfect for our Red Ribbon Week celebration. The students learned good skills they could use in real settings, it was age-appropriate and entertaining to students & staff. Audience participation was great as well! We would definitely have them back!"

—Kellie Clegg, School Social Worker, William J. Butler School

“Imagination Theater has worked with youth at Asian Human Services for several years, and we are always delighted with the vibrant, creative, nurturing instruction that Imagination staff provide.  In Asian Human Services’ family literacy program, Imagination actors have worked with school-age children on large and small projects – the large ones have been performances with scripts, costumes, and sets, and the smaller projects have been weekly classes that have worked on social and communication skills.

One of Imagination Theater’s great strengths is helping children build confidence.  The theater games and activities that their actor-teachers conduct are not meant to be merely fun – although they are always that – but also to instill self-worth in the kids they work with, many of whom come from at-risk backgrounds.  (All the children in our program come from low-income, immigrant homes.) It has been marvelous for us to watch children with little experience in creative self-expression unfolding like flowers.  I think this gift that Imagination staff have is a result of their skill as actors and teachers; their truly infectious enthusiasm, and their willingness to accommodate the needs of individual programs.  Asian Human Services has been truly privileged to work with Imagination Theater.”

—Barth Landor, Director of Development, Asian Human Services

“Teachers give it a thumbs up! Excellent job, and good rapport with students.”

—Nancy Cracraft, 2nd Grade Teacher, Heather Hill School

“The program was positive… they kept my audience happy and smiled all the time. Wonderful Job. No changes. They make my residents laugh with their jokes and their performance.”

—Maria Reyes, Activities Director, Glen Elston Nursing Home

“Every time Imagination Theater comes in our facility, our residents always enjoy them and keep on talking about them even (after) the program is over. Residents have a lot of activity in one setting. They have reminiscing, physical activity, socializing with each other. They were able to use their senses and imagination.”

—Ailyn Benjamin, St. Agnes Health Care & Rehabilitation Center
